This orchestra uniform exists to give our orchestra a great, contemporary look to accompany our great sound! Students not properly dressed for a concert WILL NOT play and the resulting absence will be considered unexcused.
ALL: Formal concert uniforms will be assigned to each student. Students will be responsible for taking care of their uniforms (and all its parts), while it is in use. THE UNIFORM IS NOT TO BE TAKEN HOME! It will be issued to the student at the beginning of the year and kept at GSMST. On a concert day, uniforms will be handed out and then collected at the end of the concert.
Students should not eat or drink (anything other than water) while in uniform. We generally have a maximum of 5 formal performances throughout a year. Uniforms should be able to survive the year if you take care of them!
GENTLEMEN: Black tuxedo with tailcoat, white vest and bow tie. Gentlemen are responsible for purchasing their own white tuxedo shirt.
LADIES: Black sparkle top and palazzo pants. Pants may be rolled to the appropriate length. DO NOT HEM THE PANTS! Uniform committee members will help with safety pins to secure the roll.
No student will be penalized for an inability to purchase or provide fees for concert uniforms. Requests for assistance may be made in writing to the GSMST Music Boosters or the director via regular mail or email.
